This cake was for a first birthday party. This was quite a challenge to figure a way to get a smash cake as well as enough cake for the rest of the party. I decided to do more that the main character of the story. The Caterpillar was the smash cake for the one year old. What the caterpillar ate through was the cake for the rest of the party. The lollipop and ice cream cone were not cake, they were the real thing. I decided to copy the art from the book as closely as possible, which is why the icing is not completely smooth on the cakes.
